Glorious Water, glorious beach in winter

Myrtos beach my personal paradise

Im currently in Long Beach California right now working on a show for the next 4 weeks. I am fortunate enough to have missed the snow storm that hit NY this week, and have had the good fortune of taking a few strolls along the beach enjoying the beautiful mild weather.  I LOVE THE BEACH! There is something very therapeutic in the stillness of the sand and the waves coming to greet my feet along the shore. Since I was a little girl our family vacations were centered around having a mass of water within our reach. Mostly the caribbean. To my parents that was the meaning of a "vacation".  Growing up in Montreal and dealing with 4 to 6 to months of winter had us all wanting to flee if even for a week or two. So it is no coincidence that I feel the most relaxed and centered when I am by the water. I have hundreds of photos from beaches around the world.  Last summer I was in Kefalonia, Greece and within a 5 minute car ride I discovered "Myrtos" beach aka PARADISE!  I still dream of going back. I have can officially declare I have seen heaven on earth.

Vasto, Italy...My father's birth place

In the meantime I will take in the salt water air that fills my apartment as I am two blocks away from the shore.

The beginning of a new journey with Fotorella

Hey everyone,
Thank you for being patient with me as I'm finally starting my blog.  As a freelance photographer and writer I've been wanting to start one for quite some time now.  I just didn't know where to begin.
However...
Thanks to Gwyneth Paltrow (who by the way has a great site of her own www.goop.com) I was introduced to the world of blogging as she lists some of her favorite all time food blogs on her site.  There are some great websites/blogs for all you foodies out there!! After spending several days reading various blogs my inspiration came and "Fotorella" was created.
And so here I am my very first day with "Fotorella".
I've always wanted to be part of a "bigger picture" in some way to be a storyteller. Perhaps having a vivid and endless imagination as a child propelled me to go further as a narrator of my own journey. So I find myself here today ready to embark on this new path.
A picture speaks a thousand words and tells a story. My hope is to be able to capture my readers and audience attention using my photography as a vehicle to share my experiences as a woman, daughter, grand daughter, sister, auntie, friend, artist, traveller, photographer and activist.
Let the journey begin....
